The influence of economic principles of new media on the transformation of labor division theory

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá současnou reflexí prací Karla Marxe v souvislosti s digitálními médii. Nejdříve jsou zmíněny základní Marxovy teze a jejich pozdější interpretace a poté jejich podoba v současném diskurzu. Skrze práce Christiana Fuchse a Nicka Dyer-Witheforda tak dochází k rozboru dělby práce, hodnoty a pracovního procesu v průmyslu informačních technologií a principů odcizení a vykořisťování v souvislosti se sociálními sítěmi. Práce též zohledňuje výklady prací těchto autorů z pozice jejich kritiků.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the contemporary reflection of Karl Marx's work in connection to digital media. First it mentions the basic Marx's theses and their later interpretations, and then the work is focussing on their form in contemporary discourse. Through the works of Christian Fuchs and Nick Dyer-Witheford this paper analyzes the division of labour, value and work processes in the field of information technology and the principles of alienation and exploitation in connection with social networks. The work also takes into account the interpretations of the works of these authors from the position of their critics.
