The influence of the way to school on obesity and motor performance in fourth-grade primary school students in Chemnitz

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to investigate the effect of the way to and from school on the weight status and motor performance of fourth grade elementary school students in Chemnitz. The data come from the project "Comprehensive general educational examination - KOMPASS". The data analysis was based on anthropometric data, address of residence and motor performance values ??of school children. The questionnaire, which the parents had to fill out in advance, provided the information needed to determine their weight, use means of transport and address of residence. The German motor test (DMT 6-18) made it possible to assess motor skills, where children had to complete eight test tasks and were subsequently assigned to performance classes. Half of schoolchildren with a share of 49.95% actively go to school and from school on foot or by bike and cover an average daily distance of 1.40 km ? 0.93 km. Passive means of transport means the use of a car and local public transport and 32.57% of students use them daily. The distance covered is 6.43 km ? 6.05 km. The second part of the work examined the relationship between school management and motor performance. According to Bös (2008), 32.0% of Chemnitz primary school performances are within the norm and at 52.2% more than half of the children have achieved at least above-average values. The analysis of the main influence of the mode of transport on the achieved performance shows statistically significant values ??(F (2.2636) = 10.004; p <0.001; n2p = 0.008), while post-hoc tests classify the active and passive group as particularly relevant. However, an active trip to school and home has a positive effect on endurance performance.

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je prozkoumat vliv cesty do školy a ze školy na hmotnostní stav a motorickou výkonnost žáků čtvrté třídy základní školy v Chemnitz. Údaje pocházejí z projektu ?Komplexní všeobecně vzdělávací zkouška ? KOMPASS?. Analýza dat byla založena na antropometrických datech, adrese bydliště a hodnotách motorické výkonnosti školních dětí. Dotazník, který rodiče museli předem vyplnit, poskytl informace potřebné ke zjištění jejich hmotnosti, použití dopravního prostředku a adresy bydliště. Německý test motoriky (DMT 6-18) umožnil posoudit motoriku, kdy děti musely splnit osm testovacích úkolů a následně byly zařazeny do výkonnostních tříd. Polovina školáků s podílem 49,95 % do školy a ze školy aktivně chodí pěšky nebo na kole a urazí průměrnou denní vzdálenost 1,40 km ? 0,93 km. Pasivními dopravními prostředky se rozumí použití automobilu a místní hromadné dopravy a denně je využívá 32,57 % studentů. Je uražena vzdálenost 6,43 km ? 6,05 km. Druhá část práce zkoumala souvislost mezi způsobem řízení školy a motorickým výkonem. Podle Böse (2008) je 32,0 % výkonů žáků ZŠ Chemnitz v mezích normy a při 52,2 % více než polovina dětí dosáhla alespoň nadprůměrných hodnot. Analýza hlavního vlivu způsobu dopravy na dosažený výkon ukazuje statisticky významné hodnoty (F(2,2636) = 10,004; p < 0,001; n2p = 0,008), přičemž post-hoc testy klasifikují aktivní a pasivní skupinu jako zvláště relevantní. Aktivní cesta do školy a domů má však pozitivní vliv na vytrvalostní výkon.
