Power Exchange Central Europe and Clearing Banks

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá vztahy mezi pražskou energetickou burzou (Power Exchange Central Europe), jejími účastníky a clearingovými bankami. V úvodní části jsou popsány hlavní obchodované produkty a systém zúčtování (clearingu) na burze. Dále jsou znázorněny vztahy mezi clearingovými bankami, jejich klienty a centrálním depozitářem a způsoby zajištění proti úvěrovému riziku pomocí marží a clearingového fondu. Pro srovnání jsou uvedeny náležitosti analogické německo-francouzské energetické burzy European Energy Exchange a porovnány maržové parametry těchto dvou burz.

Abstract:

This work describes the relationship between Power Exchange Central Europe and its clearing and non-clearing members. At first, the main products traded on exchange and the engaged clearing system are presented. The next part is engaged in relations between clearing banks, non-clearing members and Central depository and the methods of risk management, such as usage of margins and clearing fund. For confrontation the European Energy Exchange was chosen and the margin parameters were compared.
