Priests and fortune-tellers of Baltic mythology
Abstract:
Má práce představuje kněží, věštce a čaroděje starého Pruska v období 13.-17. století. Dočtete se o jejich schopnostech, rituálech, o jejich autoritě mezi lidmi a také nahlédneme do jejich baltské mytologie - v jaké bohy, kouzla či bytosti věřili ale také o zvycích a staropruských svatyních.
Abstract:
My thesis introduces priests, fortune-tellers and sorcerers of Old Prussia in 13th - 17th century. You will get to know their abilities, rituals, authority amongst people, but also something about their feel for baltic mythology - in which gods did they believe, shrines they built, festivities they held there and last but not least their magic and belief in it.
