Televizní adaptace knih Kathy Reichové Bones Sběratelé kostí: pragmatické a kulturní aspekty překladu

Abstract:

This thesis analyzes the pragmatic and cultural differences in the original and dubbed version of one episode of the series Bones. The analysis examines four concepts of pragmatics and cultural aspects of translation. Among analyzed concepts are included deixis, speech acts, the Cooperative Principle, and the Politeness Principle. The individual phenomena are observed to discover to what extent the phenomena in the original and dubbed version of the Bones series are similar or differ from each other. The practical part also deals with the preservation of cultural aspects and describes the ways in which they were incorporated into the Czech culture. The analysis shows that the translation of this episode differs as well as resembles to the original text from the pragmatic point of view, and it also reveals some inaccuracies in the translation.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce zkoumá pragmatické a kulturní rozdíly v originální a české verzi jedné epizody seriálu Sběratelé kostí. Analýza se zabývá čtyřmi koncepty, které jsou zkoumány z pragmatického hlediska a kulturními aspekty překladu. Mezi analyzované koncepty patří deixe, řečové akty, kooperativní princip a zdvořilostní princip. Jednotlivé jevy jsou zkoumány za účelem zjistit, do jaké míry se určité jevy v původní a dabované verzi seriálu Sběratelé kostí podobají nebo liší. Praktická část se taktéž zabývá kulturními aspekty překladu a na jednotlivých příkladech vysvětluje jejich možná řešení obsažená ve verzi pro dabovaný text. Práce ukazuje, že překlad této epizody se z pragmatického hlediska v některých směrech liší, ale i podobá původnímu textu. Práce také odhaluje některé nepřesnosti v překladu.
