Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá zobrazením žen bojujících s monstry v literatuře a jejich přechodem na filmové plátno, zejména v období zlatého věku hororu. Sleduje vznik ikonického archetypu „poslední dívky“, původně definovaného a popularizovaného zásadním dílem akademičky Carol J. Clover. Práce poté zkoumá vývoj archetypu poslední dívky po 80. letech minulého století se zaměřením na to, jak Grady Hendrix reinterpretuje a využívá tento filmový tropus ve svém románu The Final Girls Support Group. Cílem této studie je využití feministické kritiky k analýze posledních dívek a monster v knize a zkoumá jejich genderovou dynamiku a důsledky těchto dynamik.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis delves into the portrayal of women fighting monsters in literature and their transition to the silver screen, particularly during the Golden Age of horror. It traces the emergence of the iconic "final girl" archetype, initially defined and popularized by the seminal work of academic Carol J. Clover. The thesis then explores the evolution of the final girl archetype beyond the 1980s, focusing on how Grady Hendrix reinterprets and utilizes this movie trope in his novel The Final Girls Support Group. This study aims to employ a feminist perspective to analyze the final girls and monsters in the book, scrutinizing their gender dynamics and implications of those.
