Abstract:

The aim of the Thesis is to assess Passenger Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure readiness in India. The study starts with discussion on BEV Revolution in India and further runs through Indian Government Initiatives on EV, EV charging standards, EV Battery and chargers specification and classification. It also focuses on what are the current Infrastructural Conditions in India for EV, Current status of charging infrastructure penetration & Future outlook. The next part of the thesis discusses the challenges in charging infrastructure implementation, role of government & Businesses in building infrastructure. In the last Chapter 5, three different scenarios are developed for status of Charging Infrastructure readiness based on the market growth and volume forecast for EVs by 2030 in India. The scenarios are developed as realistic, optimistic and pessimistic based on defined assumptions The scope of the study is limited for Passenger Electric Vehicles.
