Steganography and Steganalysis

Abstract:

Práce představuje steganografii a stegoanalýzu, obzvl. v kontextu Internetu. Úvodní stati se věnují historii a obecným teoretickým základům, následuje detailní pohled na hlavní covery užívané ve steganografii - statické obrázky a text. Ve stručnosti jsou zmíněny i některé další covery. Partie dedikované stegoanalýze se omezují téměř výhradně na experimentální analýzu, vč. prezentace výsledků vlastního bádání. Zbytek práce je vyhrazen dokumentaci původního programu SMTPd, který v diplomovém projektu zastává roli praktické aplikace steganografie.

Abstract:

The thesis introduces steganography and steganalysis, focusing on their presence on the Internet. The introduction covers history and general elementary theory of steganography and is followed by a detailed description of the main steganographic cover media: static images and text. Some other media are briefly mentioned as well. The section on steganalysis is dedicated almost exclusively to experimental analysis and includes a presentation of the results of an original research. The rest of the thesis is reserved for the documentation of the SMTPd program, created to complement the thesis in the role of a practical application of steganography.
