The Artist Identity

Abstract:

Úkolem této práce je zmapovat podobu a funkci fenoménu romantizace tvůrčích identit umělců v literárních doslovech. Znamená to, že je sledováno přenášení specifických charakteristik romantického umělce na jakéhokoli umělce, o němž je referováno. Předpokladem zde je to, že romantismus vytvořil jistý zakotvený obraz umělce a způsob nazírání na něj, který je romantizací přenášen či zobecňován. Nejprve je v práci předestřena romantická definice umělce. Ukázáno přitom je, že tato definice je do velké míry stále aktuální. Doložit to lze příkladem teorie uměleckých světů H. Beckera, do níž tato umělcova podoba vstupuje. V návaznosti na koncept tvůrčí identity je pak vymezena nejen její podoba, ale i podoba tzv. romantické identity umělce, která je romantizací zobecňována. V poslední části je pozornost věnována výsledkům samotné analýzy. Je popsáno, jakým způsobem romantizace vstupuje do dimenzí myšlení, tvorby a jednání tvůrčí identity. Prostor je také věnován polemice o funkci romantizace, již zde pojímáme jako jistý druh kontextualizace. Obecněji ji pak propojujeme s mechanismem obhajoby, o jehož přítomnosti v uměleckém světě pojednává Becker.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to explore a phenomenon of romanticization of the creative identities of artists in the literary afterwords. The attention thus is focused on the transmission of specific characteristics of romantic artist on any artist in question. The presumption here is that the Romanticism created a certain grounded perspective or a way of looking at the artist which is then transmitted or generalized in the process of romanticization. First, the romantic definition of the artist is introduced. It is also shown that this definition is still up to date. This thesis is documented on the example of the theory of art worlds of H. Becker where we can trace this romantic definition. Then a concept of creative identity and also the concept of romantic identity of artist are defined. In the last part of the work the results of the analysis itself are presented and the romanticized dimensions of thinking, creating and acting of creative identity are discussed. The romanticization is explained as a certain type of contextualization. More generally it is linked to the Becker’s rationale-producing mechanism that according to the author is also a part of the art world.
