Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na zoologické zahrady jako objekty krajinářské architektury. Tématem, které se propisuje do všech částí práce, je animal welfare, tedy životní pohoda živočichů. V teoretické části se věnuje vývoji zoologických zahrad v souladu s vývojem práv zvířat, představuje jejich transformaci od sbírek exotických živočichů, přes menažerie až k počátkům moderních zahrad a jejich funkcím a principům v současnosti. Diplomová práce se dále zabývá principy návrhu zoologických zahrad, které zahrnují aspekty životních potřeb živočichů, kvality a atraktivity prostředí pro návštěvníky a plnění hlavních funkcí zoologických zahrad jako jsou výzkum, ochrana biodiverzity a edukace veřejnosti. Práce také sumarizuje funkce moderních zoologických zahrad. V rámci teoretické části jsou provedena 2 dotazníková šetření zabývající se vztahem krajinářské architektury a zoologických zahrad. První dotazník je hodnocen z pohledu vedení zoologických zahrad na spolupráci s krajinářskými architekty; druhý dotazník zkoumá postoje krajinářských architektů k zoologickým zahradám. Analytická část je věnována průzkumům a seznámením se s modelovým územím. V návrhové části je zpracován modelový objekt v Zoologické zahradě Olomouc – připravovaná expozice na téma Český les. Návrh zohledňuje všeobecné principy strategického plánování zoologických zahrad a aplikuje je na menší měřítko v podobě plánované expozice. Důraz je kladen na životní podmínky a pohodu živočichů – animal welfare. Zásadními východisky jsou dále atraktivní prostředí pro návštěvníky, edukace a výchova k ochraně přírody a posílení vztahu návštěvníků k české přírodě.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis focuses on zoological gardens as objects of landscape architecture. The topic that accompanies all parts of the work is animal welfare, i.e. the well-being of animals. The theoretical part deals with the development of zoos in accordance with the development of animal rights, presents their transformation from collections of exotic animals, through menageries to the beginnings of modern gardens and their functions and principles in the present. The diploma thesis further deals with the principles of the design of zoos, which include aspects of the living needs of animals, the quality and attractiveness of the public environment, and the fulfillment of the main functions of zoos such as research, biodiversity protection and public education. The work also summarizes the functions of modern zoos. As part of the theoretical part, 2 surveys dealing with the relationship between landscape architecture and zoos are carried out. The first questionnaire is evaluated from the point of view of zoo management in cooperation with landscape architects; the second questionnaire examines the attitudes of landscape architects towards zoos. The analytical part is devoted to exploration and getting know the model territory. In the designing part, a model object in the Olomouc Zoological Garden is processed - an upcoming exhibition on the theme of the Czech Forest. The project takes into account the general principles of strategic planning of zoos and applies them to a smaller scale in the form of a planned exhibition. Emphasis is placed on the living conditions and well-being of animals - animal welfare. The fundamental basis points are an attractive environment for visitors, education and training in nature conservation and strengthening of visitors' relationship with the Czech nature.
