Abstract:

Testosteron je životně důležitý hormon pro obě pohlaví. Tato práce shrnuje některé starší i nové poznatky o vlivu testosteronu na chování člověka. Je rozebírán zejména vliv testosteronu na pohlaví potomka, agresivitu, dominanci, psychiku a zdraví. Z poznatků vyplývá, že vyšší hladiny testosteronu a glukózy v krvi ženy vedou k častějšímu početí mužského potomka. Vyšší hladina testosteronu koreluje s vyšším stupněm dominantního chování jedince. Agresivita je podmíněna vyšší hladinou testosteronu, ale jen při nízké hladině serotoninu a oxytocinu. Testosteron má vliv na psychiku člověka, vyplavuje se při svalové činnosti a spolupůsobí se serotoninem a dopaminem na stavu dobrého rozpoložení. Při stresu se vyplavuje kortizol, kterým je testosteron potlačován. Dlouhotrvající stres má negativní vliv na fyzické i psychické zdraví. Terapie testosteronem má ochranný vliv na kortizolem zatěžovaný hippokampus; testosteron zde tlumí depresi a úzkost. Sekreci testosteronu tlumí hormonální antikoncepce, marihuana, alkohol, obezita, léky na bolest a vysoký tlak a cholesterol. Obezita, přebytek tukové tkáně, podporuje přeměnu testosteronu na estradiol, který dále podporuje její tvorbu. Obézní muži často trpí hypogonadismem sníženou funkcí varlat vytvářet testosteron. Nízký poměr testosteronu oproti estradiolu má vliv na propuknutí rakovinového bujení.

Abstract:

Testosterone is known as a "male" hormone, however, that is not fully accurate. Because, it is equally important for women who have even higher levels of testosterone than the "female" hormone estradiol. The higher level of testosterone and glucose in women results in the more often conception of a male offspring. Testosterone has an effect on the state of well-being of the human psyche, because it washes out during muscle action and interact with serotonin and dopamine. The stressful situations trigger the production of the stress hormone cortisol, from which follows the suppression of testosterone. Prolonged stress has a negative impact on physical and mental health. Testosterone therapy has a protective effect on cortisol burdened hippocampus; where testosterone alleviates depression and anxiety caused by cortisol. The secretion of testosterone is inhibited by hormonal contraception, marijuana, alcohol, obesity, painkillers, high blood pressure and cholesterol. Obesity, excess adipose tissue, and promotes the conversion of testosterone to estradiol, which promotes the further fat formation. Obese men often suffer from hypogonadism - reduced function of the testes to produce testosterone. Low ratio between testosteron and estradiol affects the higher possibility of the outbreak of cancerous cell growth.
