Evaluation of Tourism Potential Development in Ergebirge/Krušnohoří Mining Region

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je zhodnotit potenciál rozvoje cestovního ruchu v Hornickém regionu Krušnohoří. Práce je členěna do dvou hlavních částí – teoretické a praktické. V teoretické části jsou vymezeny základní pojmy související s tématem potenciálu cestovního ruchu, jeho teoretickým uchopením a přístupy k jeho hodnocení. Dále se práce věnuje Seznamu světového dědictví UNESCO a konkrétnímu statku na něj zapsanému – Hornickému regionu Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří. Praktická část práce je zaměřena na samotné hodnocení potenciálu cestovního ruchu na základě metodiky podle Jana Bíny, kde jsou vybraným atraktivitám cestovního ruchu přiřazeny body dle jejich významnosti. Tato část práce je ukončena SWOT analýzou zpracovanou na základě výsledků polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s odborníky v oboru z regionu. Hornický region Krušnohoří může konkurovat některým dalším památkám UNESCO v České republice ve smyslu bodového zisku za atraktivity cestovního ruchu, jeho potenciál však spočívá především ve vnímání regionu jako jednoho celku, s obrovským množstvím montánních památek. Konkurenci pro něj představují nejen další památky UNESCO, ale i zimní turistika v Krušných horách, která je kapacitně mnohonásobně vyšší.

Abstract:

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the tourism potential development in Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří Mining Region. The thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, the concept of tourism potential and different approaches to its assessment are defined. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the UNESCO World Heritage List and one of its specific sites – Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří Mining Region. The practical part is focused on the tourism potential evaluation itself based on the methodology presented by Jan Bína where points are allocated to the chosen tourism attractions according to their importance. This part of the thesis is concluded by a SWOT analysis which was conducted based on the results of in-depth interviews with experts in the tourism field in the area. Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří Mining Region can compete with some of the other UNESCO Heritage Sites in the Czech Republic in terms of the points for tourism attractions it has received. However, its potential is most apparent in being considered as a whole, with a large number of mining landmarks. Competition not only comes in terms of other UNESCO sites in the Czech Republic but also within the Ore Mountains and its high-capacity winter resorts.
