Patient Compliance in the Treatment of Glaucoma Disease

Abstract:

Téma bakalářské práce je Compliance pacienta v případě řešení glaukomového onemocnění. Cílem práce je zjistit, jaké mají pacienti znalosti o glaukomu, jak jim byla diagnóza sdělena, jakým způsobem byli o nemoci a užívání očních léků edukováni. Zkoumá také aspekty ovlivňující jejich complianci v celoživotní léčbě. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část popisuje anatomii oka, patofyziologii glaukomu a faktory související s glaukomovým onemocněním a compliancí pacienta, hlavně z pohledu psychologie. Praktická část popisuje skutečnosti, zjištěné pomocí kvalitativního šetření metodou polostrukturovaného rozhovoru s osmi respondenty.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the area of Patient Compliance in the Treatment of Glaucoma Disease. The objective of the thesis is to elucidate what knowledge about glaucoma the patients have, how they were informed about their diagnosis, which way was used for informing them about the disease and the use of ophthalmic medication. It explores aspects affecting their compliance within the lifelong therapy as well. The thesis is divided into the theoretical part and the field research part. The theoretical part describes the anatomy of the eye, the glaucoma pathophysiology and the factors associated with the glaucoma disease and the patient compliance, especially from the psychology point of view. The field research part describes the real facts established with the qualitative investigation using the methodology of the semistructured interviews with eight respondents.
