Effect of the pre-induction method on the satisfaction of women in the first stage of labour

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem diplomové práce bylo zjistit spokojenost žen s právě ukončenou preindukcí porodu, vliv konkrétní metody na spokojenost s preindukcí a porovnání zjištěných údajů. Metodika výzkumu: Soubor respondentek byl tvořen 110 rodičkami indikovanými k preindukci porodu. Data byla sbírána pomocí adaptovaného dotazníku v období od listopadu 2021 do konce ledna 2022. Spokojenost žen s ukončenou preindukcí porodu byla zkoumána formou kvantitativního výzkumu. Výsledky: Odpovědi byly anonymně sbírány do databáze Typeform a následně vyhodnocovány. Po analýze výsledků bylo zjištěno, že existuje statisticky významný rozdíl ve frekvenci využití sledovaných farmakologických a nefarmakologických preindukčních metod. Dalším zkoumaným aspektem byla míra bolesti a diskomfortu spojená se zaváděním preindukční metody, kdy bylo potvrzeno, že neexistuje statisticky významný rozdíl mezi mírou bolesti ani mírou diskomfortu u rodiček. Naopak se dle získaných odpovědí ukázalo, že mezi mírou bolesti rodiček v průběhu působení mechanické a farmakologické preindukce existuje statisticky významný rozdíl. Závěr: Z výsledků výzkumu prováděného v rámci této diplomové práce vyplývá, že farmakologické metody preindukce porodu jsou využívány častěji než mechanické metody preindukce, které tudíž nejsou využívány ve všech případech, kde by mohly být indikovány, i přesto že jsou ženami v celkovém výsledku lépe tolerované, a že je v jejich případě možné propuštění rodičky do domácího prostředí. Abstract:

Aim: The aim of this thesis was to determine women's satisfaction with their completed preinduction, the effect of a particular method on satisfaction with pre-induction and to compare the findings. Methods: The respondent population consisted of 110 women referred for preinduction of labour. Data were collected using an adapted questionnaire between November 2021 and the end of January 2022. Women's satisfaction with the completion of preinduction of labour was investigated through a quantitative survey. Results: Responses were collected anonymously on the Typeform database and then analysed. It was found that there was a statistically significant difference in the frequency of use of the pharmacological and non-pharmacological preinduction methods studied. Another aspect examined was the level of pain and discomfort associated with the introduction of the preinduction method, where it was confirmed that there was no statistically significant difference between the level of pain or discomfort in parturients. On the contrary, there was a statistically significant difference between the level of pain experienced by parturients during the application of mechanical and pharmacological preinduction. Conclusion: The results of this thesis show that pharmacological methods of preinduction of labour are used more frequently than mechanical methods, even the fact that they are better tolerated by women in the overall outcome, and that in their case it is possible to release the parturient to the home environment.
