Sustainability and the EU taxonomy

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá udržitelností a taxonomií EU. Zatímco pojem udržitelnost je veřejně známý pojem, taxonomie EU představuje pro většinu lidí spíše nový termín. Jedná se o nařízení Evropské unie, které rozděluje hospodářské aktivity podle toho, jak jsou šetrné k životnímu prostředí. Nařízení má také za cíl nasměrovat finanční prostředky na udržitelné projekty, přispět k dosažení klimatické neutrality a zlepšit transparentnost finančního trhu. V práci je zprvu představeno téma udržitelnosti a pojmy s touto oblastí související. Dále se práce týká taxonomie EU, udržitelných financí a environmentálních cílů Evropské unie. Poslední část je věnována automobilovému sektoru, který slouží jako konkrétní příklad, kde se projevuje vliv udržitelnosti a taxonomie EU. Primárním cílem práce je zmapovat koncept taxonomie EU. Zjistit, jaké změny toto nařízení představuje a jakých subjektů se dotkne. Vedlejším cílem je poté analýza dopadů udržitelnosti a taxonomie EU na automobilový sektor.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with sustainability and the EU taxonomy. While the concept of sustainability is a well-known concept, the EU taxonomy is rather a new term for most people. It is a regulation of the European Union that divides economic activities according to how environmentally friendly they are. The regulation aims also to channel funds to sustainable projects, contribute to climate neutrality and improve the transparency of financial markets. The thesis firstly introduces the topic of sustainability and terms related to this area. Secondly, the work concerns the EU taxonomy, sustainable finances and environmental goals of the European Union. The last part is devoted to the automotive sector, which serves as a concrete example demonstrating the impacts of sustainability and the EU taxonomy. The primary goal of this work is to map the concept of EU taxonomy. Find out which changes this regulation represents and who will be affected. The secondary goal then is to analyse the impacts of sustainability and the EU taxonomy on the automotive sector.
