Inequalities in health in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se bude zabývat problematikou nerovnosti ve zdraví v České republice. Tato práce si klade za cíl získat informace o rozdílech ve zdraví mezi lidmi a faktorech, které ovlivňují úroveň zdraví. Na zdraví je pohlíženo jak ze sociologického, tak z demografického hlediska. Práce si klade následující otázky: jaké jsou rozdíly ve zdravotním stavu mezi lidmi v České republice? Jaké jsou faktory, které ovlivňují úroveň zdraví? Jsou nerovnosti ve zdraví dány systematickými rozdíly mezi sociálními skupinami? Práce je empirická a obsahuje výsledky provedeného vlastního kvantitativního výzkumu a interpretaci získaných dat, která přibližují nerovnosti ve zdraví. Empirická část je založena na vlastním dotazníkovém šetření v dospělé populaci. Vzorek pro tento výzkum bude účelový (nepravděpodobnostní výběr). Výsledky výzkumu ukazují, že socioekonomický status, zaměstnání a přístup ke zdravotní péči hrají klíčovou roli ve vytváření rozdílů ve zdravotním stavu a celkově v nerovnostech ve zdraví.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis will deal with the issue of health inequalities in the Czech Republic. The aim of this thesis is to obtain information on health inequalities between people and the factors that influence the level of health. Health is viewed from both a sociological and demographic perspective. The thesis asks the following questions: what are the differences in health status among people in the Czech Republic? What are the factors that influence the level of health? Are health inequalities due to systematic differences among social groups? The thesis is empirical and contains the results of the own quantitative research and interpretation of the data obtained, which brings the health inequalities closer. The empirical part is based on a self-administered questionnaire survey in the adult population. The sample for this research will be purposive (non-probability sampling). Research results show that socioeconomic status, employment and access to health care play a key role in creating disparities in health status and overall health inequalities.
