Dilemmas of Social Workers in Homes for the Elderly

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem "Dilemata sociálních pracovníků v domovech pro seniory" se zabývá tématem etických, všedních a strategických dilemat, která prožívají sociální pracovníci v domovech pro seniory. Dále se práce zabývá otázkou, jak se s dilematy sociální pracovníci vypořádávají mimo pracovní dobu. Cílem práce je odborně analyzovat jednotlivá dilemata a zjistit, jaká pracovníci prožívají nejintenzivněji, nebo nejčastěji, a následně jakým způsobem dilematům čelí. V první části práce se zaměřím na sociální služby a vymezení práce a předpokladů sociálních pracovníků, následně analyzuji dilemata jako taková. Ve druhé části práce se zaměřím na rozdělení a představení jednotlivých dilemat, které budou vždy obsahovat poznatky z výzkumného šetření. Informace o dilematech sociálních pracovníků byly zjišťovány pomocí strukturovaných rozhovorů od 7 sociálních pracovníků vybraných domovů pro seniory. Poznatky, které přinesla tato práce, mohou být užitečné pro zamyšlení se nad změnami náplně práce a nastavení jiných podmínek pro výkon povolání sociálního pracovníka v domově pro seniory.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis named "Dilemmas of social workers in retirement houses" is dealing with the topics of ethical, usual and strategical dilemmas, which the social workers have to deal with in the retirement houses. The thesis also deals with issues of how do the social workers deal with these dilemmas outside the working hours. The aim of the work is to professionally analyse the individual dilemmas and find out which dilemmas do the social workers experience the most intensively or the most often and subsequently in what way they face the dilemmas. In the first part of the work I will focus on the social services and the definition of work and the assumptions of the social workers, then I will analyze the dilemmas as such. In the second part of the work I will focus on the division and the presentation of the individual dilemmas, which will contain the findings from the research survey. The dilemmas's information of the social workers was obtained due to the structured interviews from the 7 social workers from selected retirement houses. The information obtained by this work allow us to consider the changes of the work and different for the social workers in the retirement houses conditions.
