Životní skripty jsou kulturně sdílené představy o pořadí životních událostí a o věku jedince, ve kterém by měl těmito událostmi procházet. Teorie životních skriptů čerpá z teorie skriptů Schanka a Abelsona a z poznatků o sociálních hodinách Neugartenové, Mooreové a Loweho.
