Reward principles in self-managing organizations in the IT industry

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá principy odměňování ve svobodných firmách v sektoru IT v Praze. Hlavním cílem je vyhodnocení míry uplatňování principů tzv. „svobodných firem“ v oblasti odměňování v pražských svobodných firmách v sektoru IT a zároveň identifikace příčin a faktorů, které uplatňování výše zmiňovaných principů mohou bránit. V práci jsou postupně definovány 3 principy: princip angažovanosti pracovníka v procesu určování výše mezd, princip transparentnosti systému odměňování a princip intrinsické motivace. Pro naplnění cíle výzkumu je zvolen kvalitativní výzkum ve formě polostrukturovaných rozhovorů, kterých se zúčastnilo celkem 13 respondentů, doplněný o online dotazníkové šetření sloužící k triangulaci dat. Z analýzy dat plyne různá míra naplňování definovaných principů napříč zkoumanými společnostmi, spolu s příčinami bránícími v uplatňování výše zmíněného prvního a druhého principu.

Abstract:

The topic of this master thesis is reward principles in self-managing organizations in the IT industry in Prague. The main aim of the master thesis is to evaluate the degree of application of the principles of self-managing organizations in the field of rewards management in Prague self-managing organizations in the IT industry and at the same time to identify the causes and factors that may hinder the application of the above principles. The work defines 3 principles: the principle of employee involvement in the process of determining the amount of salaries, the principle of transparency of the rewards system, and the principle of intrinsic motivation. To fulfill the research goal, qualitative research was chosen in the form of semi-structured interviews, which were attended by a total of 13 respondents, supplemented by an online questionnaire survey used to triangulate data. The analysis of the data revealed different levels of fulfillment of the defined principles across the surveyed companies, together with the reasons hindering the application of the above-mentioned first and second principles.
