Celulozomy jsou multienzymové komplexy, které umožňují některým celulolytickým bakteriím efektivně rozkládat polymerní nesolubilní celulózu a hemicelulózu ze stěn rostlinných buněk na monomerní solubilní cukry. Metodami genetického inženýrství je možné připravit jednodušší syntetické varianty přírodních celulozomů, takzvané minicelulozomy. Cellulosomes are multienzyme complexes of some cellulolytic bacteria that allow them to efficiently break down polymeric insoluble cellulose and hemicellulose from plant cell walls to monomeric soluble sugars.
