Resumption of ADL in a patient suffering from Parkinson's disease following a subcapital fracture of the femur: clinical case.

Abstract:

The femur is the longest and strongest bone in the human body and is responsible for bearing the weight of the body during movement and in an upright position. It articulates with the ilium bone and tibia allowing multiple movements of the leg, including rotation, abduction, flexion and extension. Most of the muscles, including the quadriceps, which consists of the rectus femoris, vastus medialis, vastus lateralis and vastus intermedius, and the posterior thigh muscles, insert on the femur allowing strength and control necessary for lower limb movement. This thesis will focus on the clinical case of a patient with Parkinson's disease after suffering an acetabular fracture of the femur with a total hip replacement. The anatomy of the hip joint and part of the anatomy of the femur will be described in detail. The treatment steps will be addressed, and the results and improvements achieved during the rehabilitation process will be discussed.

Abstract:

Il femore ? l'osso pi? lungo e robusto del corpo umano, ha il compito di sopportare il peso del corpo durante le fasi di movimento e in posizione eretta. Si articola con l'osso iliaco e con la tibia permettendo molteplici movimenti della gamba, tra cui rotazioni, abduzione, flessione ed estensione. La maggior parte dei muscoli, tra cui il quadricipite che ? composto dal retto femorale, vasto mediale, vasto laterale e vasto intermedio ed i muscoli posteriori della coscia, si inseriscono sul femore consentendo robustezza e controllo necessario per il movimento degli arti inferiori. La tesi si concentrer? sul caso clinico di un paziente affetto da Parkinson dopo aver subito una frattura acetabolare di femore con protesi totale di anca. Sar? descritto dettagliatamente l'anatomia che riguarda l'articolazione dell'anca e parte dell'anatomia del femore. Si affronteranno le tappe del trattamento e si discuter? sui risultati e i miglioramenti raggiunti durante l'iter riabilitativo.
