The impact of external factors on business in the automotive industry in the Czech Republic: a PEST analysis

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá komplexní analýzou vnějších faktorů ovlivňujících podnikání v automobilovém průmyslu v České republice prostřednictvím PEST analýzy. Hlavním cílem této práce je poskytnout zhodnocení postavení automobilového průmyslu v České republice prostřednictvím analýzy PEST faktorů a analýzy Risk/Reward Indexu společnosti Fitch Solution. Vedle toho se podrobněji zaměřuje na identifikaci externích faktorů, které ovlivňují prostředí podnikání v automobilovém průmyslu v České republice. Dalším aspektem je hodnocení jevů, které mohou představovat vnější hrozby v budoucnosti, a nakonec formulace autorského názoru, který zahrnuje zhodnocení příležitostí a hrozeb, jimž čelí automobilový průmysl v České republice. Teoretická část práce nejprve definuje klíčové pojmy strategické analýzy podniku, přičemž zvláštní důraz je kladen na PEST analýzu a metodologii Risk/Reward Indexu. Tyto teoretické koncepty jsou následně aplikovány v praktické části diplomové práce. Dále jsou v teoretické části poskytnuty informace o českém automobilovém průmyslu, včetně jeho definice, historie a současného postavení. V praktické části diplomové práce je na základě poznatků z teoretické části provedena PEST analýza a zhodnocení výsledků Risk/Reward Indexu pro automobilový průmysl v České republice. Tato část práce poskytuje ucelený pohled na klíčové vnější faktory ovlivňující prostředí podnikání v daném odvětví a přispívá k hlubšímu porozumění aktuálním výzvám a příležitostem, kterým český automobilový průmysl čelí.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with a comprehensive analysis of external factors influencing business in the automotive industry in the Czech Republic through PEST analysis. The main objective of this paper is to assess the position of the automotive industry in the Czech Republic through a PEST factor analysis and an analysis of the Fitch Solution Risk/Reward Index from the rating agency Fitch Solutions. In addition, it focuses in more detail on the identification of external factors that influence the business environment in the automotive industry in the Czech Republic. Another aspect is the assessment of phenomena that may pose external threats in the future, and finally the formulation of the author's opinion, which includes an evaluation of the opportunities and threats facing the automotive industry in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of the thesis first defines the key concepts devoted to the strategic analysis of the company, with special emphasis on PEST analysis and the Risk/Reward Index methodology. These theoretical concepts are then applied in the practical part of the thesis. Furthermore, the theoretical part provides information about the Czech automotive industry, including its definition, history and current position. In the practical part of the thesis, based on the knowledge from the theoretical part, a PEST analysis and evaluation of the results of the Risk/Reward Index for the automotive industry in the Czech Republic is performed. This part of the thesis provides a comprehensive view of the key external factors influencing the business environment in the industry and contributes to a deeper understanding of the current challenges and opportunities facing the Czech automotive industry.
