Abstract:
The object of interest of this diploma thesis is the usage of open and closed subtitles in audiovisual works within the EU. On the basis of several non-legislative and legislative documents adopted by the institutions of the EU, it is possible to claim that subtitling is a politically relevant topic in the EU.
