Anotácia:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tzv. větami-komentáři you know, you see a I mean. Tyto komentáře se vyskytují hlavně v mluvené angličtině. Výzkum je založen na analýze a srovnání čtyř autentických textů, a to dvou bezprostředních a dvou telefonních konverzací. Věty-komentáře jsou zkoumány ze tří různých hledisek – pragmatické funkce, pozice v replice a reakce na tyto věty-komentáře ze strany posluchače.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the so-called comment clauses, namely you know, you see and I mean. These clauses occur mainly in spoken English. The research is based on the analysis and comparison of four authentic texts – two face-to-face and two telephone conversations. The comment clauses are examined according to three different criteria – pragmatic function, position within the turn and the response to the use of the comment clauses on the part of the hearer.
