Bakalářská práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části se práce zaměřuje na popis onemocnění a anatomickou stavbu prsní žlázy, prevenci a rizikové faktory vzniku onemocnění, klasifikaci onemocnění, klinický obraz onemocnění, diagnostické vyšetřovací metody, následnou léčbu a možné komplikace, které mohou v pooperačním období vzniknout.
