Vaginal breech delivery in a historical context

Abstract:

Vaginální porod koncem pánevním je nedílnou součástí porodů od historie až po současnost. Cíl teoretické části práce je za pomoci literatury a elektronických zdrojů podat ucelený přehled o vývoji vaginálního porodu koncem pánevním v průběhu historie, vývoj extrakčních technik, doporučení a postupů pro lékaře i porodní asistentky, dále zaznamenat snahu porodníků přijít na co nejbezpečnější postupy při porodu, aby byl porod bezpečný pro matku i plod. Empirickou část tvoří kvalitativní výzkumné šetření realizované rozhovory s ženami. Výzkum zaznamenává zkušenosti jednotlivých žen s vaginálním porodem koncem pánevním v průběhu let. Rozhovory se také snaží zjistit, do jaké míry byly rodičky informovány. Bylo zjištěno, že ženy nebyly a nejsou dostatečně edukovány o této problematice. Nicméně k některým pokrokům v průběhu let došlo, jako preventivní epiziotomie, možnost doprovodu při porodu nebo lepší a spolehlivější diagnostické metody.

Abstract:

Vaginal breech birth is an integral part of childbirth from history to the present. The aim of the theoretical part of the thesis is to give a comprehensive overview of the development of vaginal pelvic ending throughout history, the development of extraction techniques, recommendations and procedures for both doctors and midwives, using literature and electrical sources, and to record the efforts of obstetricians to figure out the safest possible procedures for delivery to make birth safe for both mother and fetus. The empirical part consists of a qualitative research survey conducted through interviews with women. The research records women's individual experiences of vaginal breech birth over the years. The interviews also seek to find out the extent to which the birth mothers were informed. It was found that women were not and are not sufficiently educated about the issue. However, there have been some advances over the years, such as preventive episiotomy, the possibility of accompaniment at birth or better and more reliable diagnostic methods.
