Using the Myro device in Occupational therapy in a child client with pervasive developmental disorder and ADHD

Abstract:

Úvod: Tato bakalářská práce je na téma Využití přístroje Myro v ergoterapii u dětského klienta s pervazivní vývojovou poruchou a ADHD. Cíl práce: Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je poukázat na efektivitu robotického přístroje Myro s porovnáním ergoterapeutické intervence u dětského klienta s diagnózou pervazivní vývojová porucha a ADHD. Metodika: V mé bakalářské práci se dozvíte obecně o anatomii mozku, diagnózách pervazivní vývojová porucha a ADHD, ergoterapii a následně ergoterapii u těchto diagnóz a seznámení s přístrojem Myro. Následně vás seznámím o průběhu vstupního vyšetření, kde jsem nejdříve odebrala klientovu anamnézu za přítomnosti zákonného zástupce. Následovala vstupní testování kde jsem využila dostupných testů - MABC-2, FIM test a dva posuzovací úkoly z přístroje Myro. Z hodnot testů jsem si sestavila krátkodobý ergoterapeutický plán. Během našich cvičení jsem do terapie zahrnula hru a přístroj Myro. V průběhu terapií jsem provedla dvě kontrolní vyšetření. Před ukončením stanovených terapiích jsem udělala výstupní vyšetření, kdy jsem na základě výsledků stanovila dlouhodobý ergoterapeutický plán. Výsledky: Výrazné zlepšení jsem viděla v rovnováze a koordinaci těla. Největší posun se projevil v chůzi pata-špička a stoji na jedné dolní končetině. Výrazné zlepšení jsem viděla v porozumění, expresi, sociální interakci a paměti, kde v porozumění byl posun o jeden bod, v expresi o 2 body, v sociální interakci o 4 body a v paměti o jeden bod. U výsledků na přístroji Myro jsem zahlédla kolísavé posuny, kde nebylo u klienta viditelné zlepšení. Závěr: Na základě zhodnocení výsledků vstupního, kontrolních a výstupního vyšetření ergoterapeutická intervence viditelně ovlivnila život klienta. V porovnání výsledků robotické rehabilitace nedošlo až tak k viditelným posunům jako u zmíněné ergoterapeutické intervenci, ale i tak měla hlavní podíl na zlepšení pozornosti. Vhodné je tedy kombinovat ergoterapeutickou intervenci i robotickou rehabilitaci.

Abstract:

Introduction: This bachelor thesis is on the topic of using the Myro device in occupational therapy in children with pervasive developmental disorder and ADHD. Aim of the thesis: The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to point out the effectiveness of the robotic device Myro, with a comparison of occupational therapy intervention in a pediatric client with a diagnosis of pervasive developmental disorder and ADHD. Methodology: In my bachelor's thesis you will learn about brain anatomy, diagnoses of pervasive developmental disorder and ADHD, occupational therapy and subsequently occupational therapy for these diagnoses and acquaintance with the Myro device. Subsequently, I will acquaint you with the course of the initial examination, where I first took the client's anamnesis in the presence of a legal representative. This was followed by initial testing where I used the available tests - MABC-2, FIM test and two assessment tasks from the Myro device. From the test values, I compiled a short-term occupational therapy plan. During our exercises, I included a game and a Myro device in my therapy. During the therapies, I performed two follow-up examinations. Before the end of the specified therapies, I did an exit examination, where I determined a long-term occupational therapy plan based on the results. Results: I saw a significant improvement in the balance and coordination of the body. The biggest shift was in walking heel-toe and standing on one lower limb. I saw a significant improvement in understanding, expression, social interaction and memory, where there was a shift of one point in understanding, 2 points in expression, 4 points in social interaction and one point in memory. I saw fluctuating shifts in the results on the Myro device, where there was no visible improvement in the client. Conclusion: Based on the evaluation of the results of the entrance, control and exit examinations, the occupational therapy intervention visibly affected the client's life. In the comparison of the results of robotic rehabilitation, there were not as visible shifts as in the mentioned occupational therapy intervention, but it still played a major role in improving attention. It is therefore appropriate to combine occupational therapy intervention and robotic rehabilitation.
