The aim of this thesis is to compare two translations of a novel K-PAX by Gene Brewer. Translation 1 was made by a beginner and translation 2 is an officially published professional work. Cílem této bakalářské práce je porovnání překladů románu K-PAX od autora Gena Brewera. Překlad 1 vytvořil začátečník a překlad 2 je oficiálně publikovaná profesionální práce. Tato práce je rozdělena na dvě části. V praktické části je rozebrána teorie překladu.
