Geocaching - its expansion and current situation

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je popsat fenomén geocachingu, charakterizovat jeho vyznavače a zjistit možnosti jeho dalšího rozvoje. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí – teoretické a empirické. Teoretická část vysvětluje pojem geocaching, jeho podstatu a popisuje základní pravidla a pojmy s ním spojené. Dále uvádí, jak geocaching vznikl a kdy a jakým způsobem se dostal do České republiky. Empirická část práce je zaměřena na dotazníkové šetření, jehož výsledkem je charakteristika vyznavače geocachingu. V závěru práce jsou popsány možnosti uplatnění geocachingu v cestovním ruchu, které vyplynuly z této práce.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe the phenomenon of geocaching, to characterize the geocaching favourer and find out the possibilities of its future development. The work is devided into two parts – the theoretical and the empirical one. The theoretical part explains the idea of geocaching, its principle and describes the basic guidelines and relevant terms. The thesis displays how the geocaching was originated and when and how it came to the Czech Republic. The empirical part focuses on questionnaire, whose result is characterization of geocaching favourer. The final part describes the possibilities of geocaching usage in tourism, that resulted from this thesis.
