Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na zkoumání tématu Anglické dialekty a vývoj anglického jazyka. Teoretická část popisuje nejen základní informace o anglickém jazyku, jeho historii, ale zároveň klade důraz na dva určité dialekty, a to dialekt z Liverpoolu, dialekt z Manchesteru. Hlavní výzkumnou metodou je sesbírání dat pomocí dotazníkového šetření. Data jsou sesbírána z jazykového centra FAKTUM v Opavě, Střední školy OBAKA pro profesionální hráče Baníku a Slezské univerzity. Výběr různých typů škol slouží k tomu, aby výzkum proběhl ve více věkových kategoriích. Praktická část poskytuje širší zaměření se na popsání výsledných sesbíraných dat. Z daných dat dochází k vytvoření grafů, jež slouží k utvoření reálnějšího obrazu o daných informacích. Zároveň také vyhodnocují znalost anglických dialektů v řadách studentů jazykové školy na úrovni C1, studentů středních a vysokých škol, a to na bázi poslechu. Cílem práce bude zjistit, do jaké míry nerodilí mluvčí angličtiny, z různých věkových skupin a rozdílnou znalostí angličtiny, daným dialektům rozumí, a to za pomoci poslechových a psaných cvičení.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis focuses on the English dialect and the development of the English language. The theoretical part describes the basic information about the English language, and its history and emphasises two specific dialects: the dialect from Liverpool and Manchester. The dominant research method is data collection by using a questionnaire survey. Data are collected from a language school in Opava, the secondary school OBAKA for professional players of Banik, and the Silesian University in Opava.The selection of different school types ensure that the research occurs in several age categories. The practical part provides a broader focus on the description of the resulting information that is collected. The graph creation comes from the given data, providing a picture of the collected information. At the same time, graphs also evaluate the knowledge of English dialects of the language school C1 students, secondary school students, and university students based on listening exercises. The thesis aims to find out to what extent non-native speakers of English from different age groups and with varying levels of English proficiency in understanding the dialects in question, using listening exercises and a questionnaire survey.
