The origin and development of university education of physical education teachers in Pilsen

Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo získat a zpracovat informace týkající se vzniku a vývoje vysokoškolské přípravy učitelů tělesné výchovy v Plzni. V práci je popsána historie Pedagogické fakulty v Plzni, historie Katedry tělesné výchovy dnes Centra tělesné výchovy a sportu v Plzni. Dalším tématem byl vývoj vzdělávacích oborů, nyní studijních programů, na Katedře tělesné výchovy v Plzni. Informace byly získány, z již publikovaných materiálů, od pamětníků pomocí rozhovorů, z webových stránek fakulty a ze zdrojů získaných od studijního oddělení či od vedoucího práce doc. PaedDr. Jaromíra Votíka, CSc. Dle dostupných materiálů se vznik Pedagogické fakulty v Plzni datuje od roku 1964, kdy zanikají Pedagogické instituty. Před vznikem Pedagogické fakulty byla výuka budoucích učitelů v Plzni zajišťována na plzeňské pobočce PF UK sídlící v Praze (mezi lety 1948 až 1953) a později v letech 1953 až 1959 na Vyšší pedagogické škole v Plzni. Od roku 1959 do roku 1964 existovaly Pedagogické instituty. Součástí ZČU se stává Pedagogická fakulta roku 1991. Do roku 1959 neexistovalo na Vyšší pedagogické škole oddělení či katedra tělesné výchovy a výuka TV byla zajišťována učiteli z kateder TV LF UK v Plzni a VŠSE. V Plzni byla samostatná katedra tělesné výchovy zřízena až se založením Pedagogických institutů. Pro ilustraci dobového kontextu jsem zařadil několik povídek od absolventa Mgr. Jiřího Hlobila, které vystihují postřehy ze studia na KTV.

Abstract:

The objective of this thesis was to obtain and process information concerning the establishment and development of the academic training of physical education teachers in Pilsen. The thesis describes the history of the Faculty of Education in Pilsen, the history of the Department of Physical Education, nowadays the Center of Physical Education and Sports in Pilsen. The following theme covers the development of educational fields, now study programs, at the Department of Physical Education in Pilsen. The information was gained from earlier published materials, via interviews with the contemporary witnesses, collected from the website of the faculty and sources provided by the study department or by the supervisor, Senior Lecturer Jaromír Votík, Ed.D, PhD. According to available materials, the establishment of the Faculty of Education in Pilsen dates back to 1964 when the Pedagogical Institutes ceased to exist. Before the establishment of the Faculty of Education in Pilsen, the training of future teachers was provided by the Pilsen branch of the Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague (between 1948 and 1953) and later from 1953 to 1959 at the Higher Pedagogical School in Pilsen. From 1959 to 1964 the adequate education was provided by Pedagogical Institutes. The Faculty of Education became a part of the University of West Bohemia in 1991. A department of physical education did not exist at the Higher Pedagogical School until 1959, and the training of physical education was provided by teachers from the departments of physical education at Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Pilsen and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of West Bohemia University. An independent department of physical education was opened in Pilsen only with the establishment of Pedagogical Institutes. Several short stories were included in the thesis illustrating the contemporary context. The texts, written by the graduate Jiří Hlobil, MA., are providing observations from the studies at the Department of Physical Education.
