The Theatre. Why?

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce, ve které hledám smysl divadla. Divadlo. Proč? Odpověď na otázku hledám skrze optiku tvůrce a diváka. Zajímám se o rozdělení diváka na dvě kategorie: nedivadelní a divadelní divák. V první kapitole zkoumám motivace nedivadelního diváka k návštěvě divadla. Definuji ho jako člověka, který není profesí spojený s divadlem. Ve druhé kapitole se zajímám o motivaci tvůrce k tvorbě. Tedy divadelního diváka, kterého definuji jako člověka, který je divadelník. Popisuji vlastní divadelní zážitky, které byly klíčové pro vytvoření vlastního přesvědčení o tom, že divadlo má smysl. V rámci svého výzkumu jsem provedla anketu mezi profesionálními divadelními tvůrci, kterou přikládám v příloze. V závěru práce motivace porovnávám a nacházím překvapivě prostou odpověď na zdánlivě prostou otázku. Tuto odpověď jsem rozprostřela do plochy a vytvořila kontextuální mapu, kterou taktéž naleznete v příloze. Psaní práce pomohlo najít smysl divadla mně osobně a doufám, že její obsah tak může činit i čtenáři.

Abstract:

Bachelor's thesis in which I am looking for the meaning of theatre. Theatre. Why theatre? I am looking for the answer to this question through the lens of both the creator and the spectator. I am interested in dividing the viewer into two categories: non-theater viewer and theater viewer. In the first chapter, I examine the motivations of non-theatre spectators for visiting the theatre. I define a non-theatre viewer as a person who is not connected to the theater by profession. In the second chapter, I am interested in the creator's motivation to create. That is, a theater spectator, which I define as a person who does the theatre as his profession. I describe my own theatre experiences that were key to forming my own conviction that theatre has a meaning, that it has a purpose, that it is meaningful. As part of my research, I conducted a survey among professional theatre creators, which you can find in the attachment. At the end, I compare the motivations and find a surprisingly simple answer to a seemingly simple question. I spread this answer into the second dimension and created a contextual map, which you can also find in the attachment. The process of writing helped me find the meaning of theatre personally, and I hope that its content can do the same for readers.
