The effect of antiflogistic therapy

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá antiflogistickou terapií, která slouží k léčbě zánětlivých, benigních onemocnění pomocí nenádorové radioterapie. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část, kde teoretická část zahrnuje základní informace o nenádorové radioterapii včetně jejich indikací, kontraindikací a nežádoucích účinků radioterapie. Dále jsou zde zmíněny biologické a radiobiologické účinky ionizujícího záření včetně běžně používaných zdrojů tohoto záření. Praktická část se týká zhodnocení úspěšnosti léčby pacientů s patní ostruhou a tenisovým loktem, která probíhala v roce 2020 na klinice Masarykova onkologického ústavu v Brně. V praktické části je rovněž obsažena i diskuze, ve které je porovnána úspěšnost léčby patní ostruhy na stejném pracovišti v roce 2012 se studií provedenou v rámci této práce. Dále jsou v diskuzi uvedeny zahraniční práce týkající se zhodnocení úspěšností léčby i u dalších onemocnění.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of antiphlogistic therapy which serves as a treatment for various benign skeletal disorders. The presented thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part, where the theoretical part contains the fundamentals of low-dose radiotherapy including its indications, contraindications and potential side effects. Then, a brief overview of biological and radiobiological effects of ionizing radiation on the human body is presented. The empirical part of the bachelor thesis analyzes success rate in the treatment of the heel spur and the painful elbow syndrome with low-dose radiotherapy using patients’ feedback obtained in 2020 from Masaryk clinic of radiation oncology in Brno. The empirical part is followed up by a discussion which compares the results from the empirical part with an earlier study conducted in 2012 at Masaryk clinic of radiation oncology in Brno. Also, several foreign studies concerning success rate of low-dose radiotherapy for other benign skeletal disorders are mentioned in the discussion whose results are compared with the results of this work.
