Faith, Conflict and Destiny from the Point of View of Viktor Fischl. Analysis and Interpretation of Selected Literary Works

Anotácia:

Diplomová práce se zabývá rozborem vybraných prozaických děl českého spisovatele Viktora Fischla. Konkrétně jde o díla Dvorní šašci, Píseň o lítosti, Loučení s Jeruzalémem a Žlutý dům. Cílem práce je analýza motivů víry, konfliktu a osudu vyskytující se ve zvolených literárních dílech, ale také jejich interpretace a komparace. Záměrem práce je přiblížit životni cestu spisovatele, poetika, diplomata a politika Viktora Fischla, dále nastínit jeho tvorbu z oblasti literatury. Ve druhé části diplomové práce zanalyzujeme čtyři vybraná díla — Píseň o lítosti, Dvorní šašci, Loučení s Jeruzalémem a Žlutý dům nejen z hlediska vybraných motivů, kterými jsou osud, víra a konflikt, ale také z hlediska postav, prostředí či symboliky.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the analysis of selected prose works of the Czech writer Viktor Fischl. Specifically, the works are Court Jesters, Song of Regret, Farewell to Jerusalem and The Yellow House. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the motifs of faith, conflict and fate occurring in the chosen literary works, as well as to interpret and compare them. The aim of this thesis is to present the life journey of the writer, poet, diplomat, and politician Viktor Fischl, as well as outline his works in the field of literature. In the second part of the thesis, we will analyze four selected works — Píseň o lítosti (Song of Regret), Dvorní šašci (Court Jesters), Loučení s Jeruzalémem (Farewell to Jerusalem), and Žlutý dům (The Yellow House) — not only in terms of selected themes such as fate, faith, and conflict, but also with regard to the characters, settings, and symbolism.
