Disinformation about preventive vaccination among lay public

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá dezinformacemi o preventivním očkování mezi laickou veřejností. Teoretická část práce pojednává o historii očkování, charakterizaci typů a druhů vakcín, zabývá se situací ohledně očkování v České republice, principem správného očkování, kontraindikacemi, indikacemi a nežádoucími účinky očkování a onemocněním lidskými papilomaviry (dále jen HPV – z anglického označení human papilloma virus). Do roku 2020 bylo laickou veřejností nejkontroverzněji vnímáno očkování proti onemocnění HPV, proto se práce věnuje dominantně tomuto problému, zejména dezinformacím, které mají vliv na snížení pokrytí populace touto vakcínou. Empirická část práce se zabývá dezinformacemi o očkování proti HPV a byla zpracována jako literární rešerše. Pro vyhledání článků byla použita databáze Medline complete, inkluzivní kritéria splnilo pět článků. Cílem práce bylo analyzovat a vyvrátit dezinformace o očkování proti HPV vědeckými studiemi. Byly definovány determinanty přijetí vakcín proti HPVa navrhnuto doporučení pro praxi, které má podpořit kladné přijetí vakcín proti HPV. Výstupem bakalářské práce je informační leták, jehož cílem je zvýšení informovanosti populace o HPV a je vhodný pro distribuci mezi širokou veřejností.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with disinformation about preventive vaccination among lay public. The theoretical part deals with the history of vaccination, characterization of types and kinds of vaccines, the situation regarding vaccination in the Czech Republic, the principle of proper vaccination, contraindications, indications and side effects of vaccination and human papillomavirus (HPV) diseases. Until 2020, vaccination against the HPV disease was perceived most controversially by the general public, so the thesis focuses on this problem, especially misinformation, which has an impact on reducing the coverage of the population with this vaccine. The empirical part of the work deals with misinformation about vaccination against the HPV and was processed as a literary research. The Medline complete database was used to search for articles, and five articles met the inclusive criteria. The objective of the thesis was to analyse and refute the misinformation about vaccination against the HPVby scientific studies. Determinants of the HPV vaccine uptake have been defined and practice recommendations have been proposed to support a positive HPV vaccine uptake. The output of the bachelor's thesis is an information prospectus, which aims to increase public awareness of the HPV and is suitable for distribution to the general public.
