Anti-al-Qur'an: Islam in the Eyes of a Czech Nobleman

Abstract:

V práci, kterou jsem nazvala Antialkorán se hodlám věnovat problematice spojené s dílem Václava Budovce z Budova, které nese název Antialkorán. Důvodem, proč jsem se rozhodla prostudovat tuto zajímavou knihu je především můj zájem o interpretaci islámu jako kultury a náboženství v českém prostředí. Antialkorán je jednou z prvních knih, která na území osídleném česky hovořícím obyvatelstvem vznikla a jež se zaměřuje na toto téma. Domnívám se, že pro správné pochopení Antialkoránu je nutné věnovat pozornost také politickým a kulturním událostem, které jsou spojeny s dobou v níž byla již zmíněná kniha sepsána. V první části se tedy budu věnovat osobě Václava Budovcz Budova. Jeho politickým názorům a pokud to bude možné také vlivům, které je formovaly. Dále se hodlám zaměřit na politickou situaci, která v době vzniku Antialkoránu panovala a dílo tak zasadit do dobového rámce. Třetí část práce bude věnována samotnému Antialkoránu, čili jeho struktuře a obsahu. V závěru je mým cílem kritický rozbor Budovcova postoje, kdy s pomocí odborné literatury budu konfrontovat Budovcovy názory v otázce islámu a muslimské společnosti se skutečností.

Abstract:

In this thesis which I named Antialkorán I intend to present an issue associated with the work of Václav Budovec from Budov called Antialkorán. The reason why I decided to study this interesting book is especially my interest in the interpretation of Islam as a culture and religion in Czech environment. Antialkorán is one of the first books which were created at the territory inhabitated by Czech speaking population and is focused on this topic. I presume that for a proper understanding of Antialkorán it is necessary to pay attention also to political and cultural events which are connected with a period in which mentioned book was written. In the first part of the thesis I deal with a person of Václav Budovec from Budov, with his political opinions and attitudes and if possible also with influences which shaped these opinions. Then I want to focus on the political situation which ruled at the time of Antialkorán’s creation so that it is possible to embed the book into historical contiguity. The third part of the thesis deals with Antialkorán itself, means with its structure and content. In conclusion, the aim of the thesis is a critical analysis of Budovec’s attitudes when, with a help of professional literature, I will confront Budovec’s opinions in a subject of Islam and Muslim society compared with reality.
