Possibilities of adding value to the private collection of Czech marionettes, family puppet theatres and decorations on the example of Jiří Vorel’s collection

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce „Možnosti zhodnocení soukromé sbírky českých marionet, rodinných loutkových divadel a dekorací na příkladu sbírky Jiřího Vorla“ se zaobírá možnostmi zhodnocení soukromé sbírky českých marionet, rodinných loutkových divadel a dekorací z pohledu managementu umění. Na příkladu rozsáhlé sbírky Ing. Jiřího Vorla jsou prezentovány jednotlivé kroky nutné k systematické práci se sbírkou. Základem je vždy blízké seznámení s oborem sbírkotvorné činnosti, proto se první kapitoly stručně věnují historickému vývoji loutky jako artefaktu. Následná analýza sbírky je východiskem pro formulaci poslání a nastínění možností dalšího rozvoje z hlediska legislativy, prezentace, propagace a financování.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the possibilities of adding value to the private collection of Czech marionettes, family puppet theatres and decorations from the point of view of arts management. On the example of an extensive collection of Ing. Jiří Vorel presents the individual steps necessary for systematic approach to the collection. The basis lies always in the familiarity with the field of collecting activity, that is why the first chapters of this study are dealing briefly with the historical evolution of the puppets as an artefact. The subsequent analysis of the collection is the starting point for the formulation of the mission and outline of the possibilities for further development of the collection in terms of legislation, presentation, promotion and financing.
