Chatbot for a Geographic Information System

Abstract:

Účelom tejto diplomovej práce je zostrojiť chatbota pre geografický informačný systém INGRADA. Úlohou chatbota je odbremeniť fyzické osoby od odpovedania často klade-ných otázok. V práci sa čitateľ oboznamuje s pojmami a faktami dôležitými v oblasti geografických in-formačných systémov, umelej inteligencie, strojového učenia a problematike chatbotov. V praktickej časti sa práca venuje voľbe správneho modelu pre zostrojenie chatbota, zberu a spracovaniu dát pre trénovacie účely, samotnému trénovaniu chatbota a v na záver testo-vaniu správneho fungovania chatbota. Praktickými experimentami sa ukazuje, že zostrojenie chatbota môže byť komplikovaný, zdĺhavý alebo hravý a svižný proces v závislosti od zvolených nástrojov. Za pomoci Chat-GPT platformy od spoločnosti OpenAI je zostrojený inteligentný konverzačný chatbot, schopný odpovedať na otázky ohľadom používania produktu INGRADA. Na záver sa ukazuje že chatbot je schopný porozumieť kontextu opýtaných otázok a do určitej miery používateľa aj navigovať k dosiahnutiu jeho cieľa. Výkon a presnosť chatbota je ohodnotená ako priemerná, nakoľko chatbot sa ľahko popasuje s jednoduchými otázka-mi, no pri komplikovanejších už má problém odpovedať konkrétne a namiesto toho generu-je všeobecnejší opis riešenia problému.

Abstract:

The purpose of this thesis is to build a chatbot for the geographic information system INGRADA. The task of the chatbot is to relieve people from answering of frequently as-ked questions. In the work, the reader becomes familiar with terms and facts important in the field of geographic information systems, artificial intelligence, machine learning and chatbots. In the practical part, the work deals with choosing a correct model for building a chatbot, collecting and processing data for training purposes, training the chatbot itself and finally testing the proper functioning of the chatbot. Practical experiments show that building a chatbot can be a complicated, lengthy or a play-ful and fast process, depending on the chosen tools. With the help of the ChatGPT plat-form from the company OpenAI is built an intelligent conversational chatbot capable of answering questions about the use of INGRADA. In conclusion, it turns out that the chatbot is able to understand the context of the ques-tions asked and, to a large extent, navigate users to achieve their goal. The performance and accuracy of the chatbot is rated as average, as the chatbot can easily handle simple ques-tions, but with more complicated ones it has trouble answering specifically and instead ge-nerates a more general description of the solution to the problem.
