Práce se zabývá novelou Our Nig od afroamerické autorky Harriet Wilson. Zejména je v ní sledována zkušenost hlavní hrdinky díla, která žije na americkém Severu a pracuje jako smluvní služebník pro bělošskou rodinu. Autorka srovnává její zkušenost se zkušeností afroamerických žen držených v otroctví na americkém Jihu. The thesis deals with the novel Our Nig by Harriet Wilson. It examines the experience of the novel’s main heroine, who lives in the free North and works for the white family as an indentured servant and whose experience is compared to the life of slave women in the South.
