Abstract:
The thesis examines the meaning of the contrasts in Cecilia Valdes by Cirilo Villaverde. The main aim is to demonstrate that the contrasts reflect the author's view on Cuban slave society, based on the struggle between social classes. The purpose of the thesis is to prove that the struggle between classes is caused by slavery, the leading cause of the moral degeneration in society.

Práce se zabývá kontrasty v kubánském románu Cecilia Valdés o la Loma del Ángel od spisovatele Cirila Villaverdeho. Hlavním cílem bylo dokázat, že kontrasty odrážejí autorovo vnímání kubánské společnosti 19. století, pro kterou jsou charakteristické konfliktní vztahy mezi sociálními skupinami.
