V tejto práci autorka pojednáva sprvu o nemeckom novohumanizme, charakterizuje jeho podstatu a popisuje prínos vedúcich osobností. V druhej časti sa zameriava na stav českej kultúry na prelome 18. a 19. storočia, teda na prvú fázu národného obrodenia. Cieľom tejto práce je poukázať na antické prvky vo vtedajšej českej poézii.
