Michael Stavarič as a Children's literature writer

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with a comparison of the traditional fable of the famous bayan Aesop and the children's book die Menschenscheuche by the Austrian writer Michael Stavarič, focusing on the similarities and differences of both genres. The bachelor thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part first explains the term fable and then lists its typical features. Then there is a presentation of the types of fables and the mention of important fables and authors who were inspired by fables. The rest of the theoretical part is devoted to the Austrian writer Michael Stavarič and his works, followed by a brief account of his work with animal heroes in his children's books, for which he received literary awards: Bieb, Gaggalag and Fascination Cracked Wesen einer unbekannten Welt, published in 2021 published by Leykam. The practical part deals with the analysis of the children's book die Menschenscheuche. At the beginning, the work is briefly introduced and then compared with a traditional fable. Differences and differences are pointed to the plot, structure, constellation of characters and the outcome of the story. Based on this analysis, it is determined whether the animal heroes from Stavarič perform the same function as the characters in the traditional fable: to convey moral lessons.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá srovnáním tradiční bajky proslulého bajkaře Ezopa a dětské knížky die Menschenscheuche od rakouského spisovatele Michaela Stavariče zaměřující se na podobnosti a odlišnosti obou žánrů. Bakalářská práce se skládá z teoretické a praktické části. V teoretické části je nejdříve vysvětlen pojem bajka a poté vyjmenovány její typické znaky. Poté dochází k představení druhů bajky a zmínění významných bajkařů a autorů, kteří se bajkami inspirovali. Zbytek teoretické části je věnován rakouskému spisovateli Michaelu Stavaričovi a jeho děl, následuje krátké líčení jeho práce se zvířecími hrdiny v jeho dětských knížkách, za které získal literární ocenění: Biebu, Gaggalagu a Faszination Krake – das Wesen einer unbekannten Welt, které bylo vydáno v roce 2021 nakladatelstvím Leykam. Praktická část se věnuje rozboru dětské knížky die Menschenscheuche. Na začátek je krátce představeno dané dílo a poté srovnáváno s tradiční bajkou. Rozdíly a odlišnosti jsou poukázány na ději, struktuře, konstelaci postav a vyústění příběhu. Na základě této analýzy je zjišťováno, jestli zvířecí hrdinové od Stavariče vykonávají stejnou funkci jako postavy v tradiční bajce: zprostředkovávat morální ponaučení.
