Actual security threats and risks in Republic of Korea

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá bezpečnostními hrozbami a riziky, se kterými se v současnosti musí Korejská republika potýkat. Nejdříve jsou však v rámci práce definované důležité pojmy, vybrané teoretické přístupy a koncepty bezpečnosti pro lepší porozumění a propojenost k hlavní části práce. Hlavním obsahem a cílem práce je popis a analýza vybraných hrozeb v Korejské republice, jedná se o hrozby ze strany Korejské lidově demokratické republiky, znečištění ovzduší a informační a kybernetické hrozby. V práci je sledován jejich vývoj v čase a současná podoba. Dále se práce zaměřuje na způsoby řešení těchto hrozeb ze strany Korejské republiky a na postoj jiných států vůči těmto hrozbám. Jedním z hlavních závěru této práce je, že pro vyřešení těchto hrozeb je pro Korejskou republiku nejdůležitější nadále navazovat spolupráci s jinými státy (Spojenými státy americkými, Čínou a Korejskou lidově demokratickou republikou), které jim pomohou s udržitelným řešením. I přesto je potřeba, aby i samotná Korejská republika pokračovala v posilování bezpečnostních opatření na svém území. Tato práce vychází z relevantní literatury a zdrojů a má deskriptivně-analytický charakter.

Abstract:

The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to analyze the threats and risks that South Korea faces. At first, the thesis provides an explanation of selected concepts and theoretical approaches to security. The main part of this work outlines the major threats to South Korea, which are thread posed by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, cybersecurity threats and air pollution. The analysis deals with the evolution and the current state of these issues. The thesis further explains how South Korea is trying to solve them, as well as the stance of other states. The main conclusion of this work is that South Korea should continue with cooperation with other states (United States, China and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) in order to find viable and lasting solutions. However, South Korea must continue with the development of its own domestic measures. This Bachelor thesis is based on relevant literature and sources and has a descriptive-analytic character.
