Visually Impaired Pupil in a Mainstream Primary School (Case Study)

Abstract:

Diplomová práce v úvodu pojednává o problematice zrakového postižení, jeho zvláštnostech, klasifikaci a charakteristice osob se zrakovým postižením dětského věku. Poté se zaměřuje na samotného žáka se zrakovým postižením, na vlivy jeho handicapu vzdělávání a na výuku čtení a psaní jedince se zrakovým postižením. Hlavní náplní práce je problematika výkonnosti žáka se zrakovým postižením ve čtení a psaní. V praktické části jsem se zaměřila na rozdíly ve čtení a psaní dvou skupin žáků základní školy, a to žáka se zrakovým postižením a žáků bez zrakového postižení. Možné rozdíly jsou následně posuzovány. Součástí této části je také snaha zjistit, jak vnímají vzdělávání žáka se zrakovým postižením jeho rodiče, třídní učitelka a asistentka pedagoga. Cílem mé diplomové práce je zjistit individuální odlišnosti mezi žákem se zrakovým postižením a ostatními žáky bez zrakového postižení. Samozřejmě také zamýšlím ověřit, zda platí, že se liší jen forma vzdělávání, nikoliv jeho obsah.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis itroduces the problems of visual impairment, its peculiarities, classification and characteristics of visually impaired children. It then focuses on a pupil with visual impairment, the effects of their disability, education, and the teaching of reading and writing to a visually impaired person. The main content of the thesis is the issue of the performance of a pupil with visual impairment in reading and writing. In the practical part I focused on differences in reading and writing between two groups of elementary school pupils, namely pupils with visual impairment and pupils without it. Possible differences are then assessed. This part also partially tries to find out how the parents of a visually impairmed pupil, his teacher and the teachers assistent perceive his education. The aim of my thesis is to ascertain individual differences between a pupil with visual impairment and other pupils without visual impairment. I certainly intend to verify whether it is only the form of education that differs, and not its content.
