Technical analysis of spot rate based on Bollinger Bands

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je ověřit možnosti využití technické analýzy spotového kursu za použití Bollingerových pásem a strategií založených na tomto indikátoru. První část práce se zabývá teorií technické analýzy a její kritikou. Druhá část se zaměřuje na konkrétní metody a indikátory technické analýzy. Třetí část rozebírá podrobně Bollingerova pásma a strategie na nich založené. Dále prezentuje odvozené indikátory, které byly využity ve čtvrté části. Ve čtvrté a poslední části této práce jsou tyto strategie empiricky testovány pomocí analytického softwaru MetaTrader 4. Výsledky prokázaly, že technická analýza má svůj význam v této oblasti.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the application of strategies based on Bollinger bands and are tested on time series of euro-dollar spot rates. The first part consists of the introduction of theory behind technical analysis and its criticism. Following part focuses on specific methods and indicators used in technical analysis. The third part describes in detail the Bollinger bands, derived strategies and indicators that were used in the fourth part. The results of empirically tested strategies are presented in the final part. The analysis was conducted by using MateTrader 4. The results proved that technical analysis has its meaningful use in this field.
