The goal of master thesis “ The cost of business cycles” is to intoduce models which calculate these costs. In the thesis the costs are compared for the US and the Czech Republic. Cieľom diplomovej práce „Náklady hospodářských cyklů“ je predstaviť modely, ktoré tieto náklady vypočítavajú. V práci sú porovnané náklady pre USA a Českú republiku. Sú zvolené tri druhy modelov. Prvý typ modelu je Lucasov model a jeho modifikácie. V druhom sa zohľadňuje trh práce, v treťom sú náklady vyčíslené na základe fluktuácií investícií.
