Senior generation on social media as a new phenomenon

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá fenoménem seniorů jako uživatelé internetu a sociálních sítích. V teoretické části je vysvětlen a specifikován pojem sociální sítě včetně nejpoužívanějších sociálních sítí v současnosti. V další kapitole je charakterizována seniorská věková skupina jako cílová skupina v marketingu a s tím související parametry. Následuje specifikace seniorů jako uživatelé internetu a sociálních sítí.Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je zmapovat využití sociálních sítí mezi starší generací uživatelů internetu, zjistit rozdíly mezi vybranými platformami a postihnout stěžejní odlišnosti v chování oproti mladé generaci.Součástí praktické části je kvantitativní a kvalitativní výzkum. Kvantitativní výzkum se realizoval pomocí dotazníkového šetření, kdy cílem byla kvantifikace výskytu zkoumaných jevů. Kvalitativní výzkum se realizoval metodou individuálních hloubkových rozhovorů. Na základě získaných poznatků jsou navržena některá marketingová doporučení

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the phenomenon of seniors as users of the internet and social media. The theoretical part explains and specifies the concept of social media, including the most used social media at present. In the next chapter, the senior age group is characterized as a target group in marketing with related parameters. Following are the specifications of seniors as Internet users and as users of social media.The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to map out the use of social media among the older generations of Internet users, to identify the differences between the selected platforms and to grasp the fundamental differences in behavior against the young generation.Part of the practical part is quantitative and qualitative research. Quantitative research was conducted through a questionnaire survey where the aim was to quantify the occurrence of the phenomena under investigation. Qualitative research was done through the method of individual in-depth interviews. Based on the results obtained, some marketing recommendations are recommended.
