Spatial comparison of income level on county level (LAU 1) in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Tato práce má za cíl jednak přehledně a pokud možno stručně uvést čtenáře do problematiky prostorové analýzy, představit její historii, současný vývoj, typické problémy a nejpoužívanější metody. Následně i předvedeme možnosti praktické realizace těchto metod v prostředí R a reálně je aplikujeme na data pocházející od soukromé společnosti podnikající na trhu finančního poradenství. Konkrétně máme k dispozici údaje o věku, pohlaví, měsíčním příjmu a trvalém bydlišti klientů této společnosti. Chceme tedy prozkoumat obecně strukturu klientů na trhu finančního poradenství a následně popsat, jaký má vztah pohlaví a věk na příjem daného člověka. Následně si analyzujeme prostorovou strukturu příjmů, které agregujeme na úroveň okresů, a pokusíme se identifikovat clustery regionů vykazující nadprůměrné či naopak podprůměrné příjmy.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to introduce the reader to the issues of pro-space analysis, to present its history, current developments, typical problems and the most used methods. Subsequently, we will demonstrate the possibilities of practical implementation of these methods in the R environment and realistically apply them to data from a private company operating in the financial advisory market. Specifically, we have data on the age, gender, monthly income and permanent residence of the company's clients. We therefore want to examine the general structure of clients in the financial consulting market and then describe the relationship between gender and age in the person's income. Subsequently, we analyze the spatial structure of revenues, which we aggregate at the district level, and try to identify clusters of regions showing above-average or below-average revenues.
