Space orientation of mammals and its neurophysiological base.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se skládá ze dvou částí. První z nich je koncipována jako literární rešerše a je věnována tématu prostorové orientace savců. První kapitola je zaměřena na různé druhy prostorové orientace a pojmy, které jsou v souvislosti s prostorovou orientací často používány a spojovány. Následující kapitola pojednává o podnětech, které jsou při prostorové orientaci savců používány jako např. vizuální podněty, magnetické pole země, echolokace apod. Samostatné kapitoly jsou taktéž věnovány neurální podstatě a metodám výzkumu prostorové orientace. Poslední kapitola rešeršní části této práce je zaměřena na ontologické změny prostorové orientace v důsledku fyziologického i patologického stárnutí. Druhá část je kombinací výzkumné a didaktické práce, která má za úkol posloužit jako didaktická pomůcka při výuce biologie na středních školách. Náplní této části je popis a uskutečnění experimentu v Morrisově vodním bludišti zkoumajícího schopnosti prostorové orientace myši domácí (Mus musculus) včetně vyhodnocení a interpretace získaných dat. Součástí je také metodická část věnovaná potřebným pomůckám na sestavení bludiště a postupu konkrétního orientačního testu. Samostatný prostor je věnován legislativním požadavkům, které je nutno při uskutečnění experimentu dodržovat.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis consists of two parts. The first one is framed as a literary recherche and the author dedicated it to a topic of spatial orientation of mammals. The first chapter is aimed to explore the different kinds of spatial orientation and terms that are widely used in the connection of spatial orientation. The next chapter deals with ways of stimulation used at spatial orientation of mammals, for example visual signals, Earth’s magnetic field, echolocation etc. Single chapters are also dedicated to the neural nature and methods of research of spatial orientation. The last chapter of the first part of this work is aimed to ontogenetic changes of spatial orientation as a result of physiological and pathologic aging. The second part of this work combines research and didactic work that could be helpful as a didactic utility at lessons of Biology at high schools. The content of this part is description and implementation of the experiment at Morris water maze. This experiment explored capabilities of spatial orientation at house mouse (Mus musculus) including evalution and interpretation of gained data. The next part of this chapter is methodical issue dedicated to useful props to build the maze and process of the particular test. A single part describes legislative requests which are necessary to be kept during this experiment.
