Balanced Scorecard and its use in measuring and managing business performance

Abstract:

Ve své diplomové práci se věnuji problematice metody Balanced Scorecard. Domnívám se, že vhodným začleněním této metody do řídicí hierarchie podniku, mohu dosáhnout stabilizace jeho výkonů a pozice. Na základě vyjasnění podnikové strategie, cílů, vhodné analýzy měřených parametrů a použití zpětné vazby, dokonce dosáhnout vyšší výkonnosti podniku. V teoretické části rozebírám na základě studia domácí a zahraniční literatury podstatné znaky této metody. Závěry tohoto studia se snažím použít jako východisko pro aplikační část. Aplikační část věnuji rozboru konkrétního podniku. Porovnávám současný stav, ekonomické výsledky, procesy, oblast vztahů k zákazníkům a zaměstnancům, stejně tak jako oblast vzdělávání. Zkoumám stávající strategii a cíle podniku. Na základě analýzy zjištěného stavu podniku a získaných poznatků z teoretické části vypracovávám projekt implementace. Cílem diplomové práce je potvrzení vhodnosti užití této metody v rámci řízení, udržení či zvyšování výkonnosti a rozvoje moderního podniku.

Abstract:

In my thesis I deal with the issues of Balanced Scorecard. I believe that through appropriate incorporation of this method into its control hierarchy a company can stabilize its performance and position. Based on the clarification of the business strategy, objectives, appropriate analysis of the measured parameters and on the use of feedback the company may achieve an even higher performance. In the theoretical part, the essential characteristics of this method are examined, based on studying both domestic and foreign literature. The conclusions of this study are used as the basis for its application. The application part is devoted to the analysis of a particular company, comparing the current situation, economic performance, the processes of the relationship with customers and employees, as well as education. Current strategy and business objectives are examined as well. An implementation project is developed, based on the analysis of the company‘s condition and on the acquired knowledge of the theoretical part. The aim of this thesis is to confirm the suitability of using this method in a modern company’s management, development, and performance maintenance or improvement.
